Route of wool
For 800 years that the Serra da Estrela are manufactured wool yarn and fabrics. First as manufacturing, then as industry, the wool left a huge legacy of industrial archaeology mainly in Covilhã and also in Seia, Gouveia and Manteigas.
The Textile Museum of the University of Beira Interior, in Covilhã, is a display of a single activity that exists today on the basis of advanced technology and produces for brands such as Christian Dior, Yves St. Laurent, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein and Giorgio Armani.
